Jesus Rivera was born in Ciego de Avila, Cuba in 1956 and immigrated to the United States in 1995. His work centers on social subject-matters, exploring these concepts through a system of personal symbols such as houses, hearts, and windows. His diverse range of media include large-format paintings, sculpture, and utilitarian implements. Rivera’s work has also been exhibited in galleries in New York and Miami and is collected internationally.
