Seymour Rosofsky

b. Chicago, Illinois, 1924–d. Chicago, Illinois, 1981

Received a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1949 and 1951 respectively. Worked in Rome on a Fulbright Fellowship in 1958 and at the American Academy in 1963. Received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1962 and a Copley Foundation grant in 1969. Received a Cassandra Foundation grant in 1973. Over the years, Rosofsky taught at Wright Junior College, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of California at Santa Cruz, Northwestern University and the Blackhawk Mountain School of Art. Solo and group exhibitions include the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, Northwestern University and the Chicago Cultural Center.
